Welcome!
Welcome to my class website! This site contains general class information, weekly homework assignments, my favorite online math resources, and my contact information. To find each class' homework assignments, hover over the course name above and click on the appropriate homework page (skinny or block). I hope parents and students find this site helpful, and utilize the other websites I have suggested on my Resources page.
About the Core-Plus Curriculum
Bay High uses the Core-Plus Mathematics textbooks in our Integrated Algebra and Geometry math courses. The first two courses weave together topics from statistics, geometry, algebra, and discrete mathematics into one class. According to the Core-Plus website (http://www.wmich.edu/cpmp/index.html):
"The first three courses in the series provide a common core of broadly useful mathematics for all students. They were developed to prepare students for success in college, in careers, and in daily life in contemporary society"
Also, these courses are preparing students for the new end-of-course and performance-based assessments that are currently being created. These new assessments will replace the Ohio Graduation Test and will be implemented starting with the 2013-2014 school year.
